Modena Durban is looking for a motivated and technically minded Autodesk Plant 3D Implementation Intern to join our Durban office.
This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career candidate who is passionate about digital design, engineering technology, and software implementation. The successful candidate will be trained in Autodesk Plant 3D and will assist with learning, testing, implementing, and supporting the software across multiple live projects.
We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and the ability to work under pressure. Meeting deadlines is a critical part of this role, as our project teams and clients rely on accurate, timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist with:
- Learning Autodesk Plant 3D in depth and becoming a key internal resource for the software.
- Supporting the implementation of Plant 3D across various projects.
- Assisting project teams with setup, workflows, standards, and troubleshooting.
- Working with digital design teams, engineers, and designers to improve project delivery.
- Helping create and refine Plant 3D templates, standards, libraries, and documentation.
- Supporting users with software-related queries and practical project implementation.
- Meeting project deadlines and assisting the team under pressure when required.
- Taking initiative and contributing to the growth of our digital design capabilities.

Advantageous Experience
Previous exposure to any of the following would be beneficial:
- Process engineering environments.
- Mechanical design or mechanical engineering environments.
- Piping design or piping drafting.
- Instrumentation and control engineering.
- Industrial plant design.
- CAD, BIM, or digital engineering workflows.
- Autodesk software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Inventor, or Plant 3D.
Previous internship or workplace experience in a related technical field would be an advantage, but a strong attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to deadlines are essential.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant qualification, diploma, certificate, or current/previous studies in a technical field such as engineering, drafting, mechanical design, process design, piping, CAD, BIM, or digital design.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Interest in Autodesk software and digital project delivery.
- Ability to work full-time from our Durban office.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
