PRODUCTION PLANNER

Our client, a Blue chip Manufacturing company based in the Vaal Triangle has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced Mechanical artisan

To assist in the everyday production activities of the company.

To prioritize daily tasks and compiling quotes, processing orders, scrappers and daily administrative tasks.

Communicate with other departments daily to resolve any issues concerning quotes or orders.

Qualifications

  • Matric/N3
  • Qualified fitter and turner (Red seal).
  • Knowledge of the roll manufacturing process.
  • Read and understand technical drawings.
  • Minimum 5 years’ manufacturing turning experience.
  • Computer literate (MS Office, MS Projects, Excel, SAP, Access)
  • Willing to work extra hours.
  • Fluent in English.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Compiling production planning and correct routing for new orders and remaining within estimating costs by using mould design and calculating machine hours as per Customer drawing and requirements.
  • Get quotes, plan and issue orders for all subcontracting work and deliveries for orders in system and monitor orders for on time deliveries.
  • Monitor all subcontracting orders during delivery to stores and ensure receiving correct items and quantities as per order.
  • Keep Microsoft project planning system updated for all old and new orders.
  • Order new drawings/revisions with copies for manufacturing process and checking of re-drawn drawings or revisions for correct dimensions as per customer drawings.
  • Manage and maintain manufacturing cabinets, updating registers in the drawing room.
  • NCR’s and all re-work need operational routing for the correct method of repairing of item by using sketches during non-conformance reports and for concession requests and revising planning due to amendments.
  • Print and issue route sheets for weekly melting program.
  • Manage and maintain production project planning system.
  • Manage and maintain yearly crating/packing material and prices with packing standards.
  • Problems solving relating to planning must be solved and eliminated.
  • Review actual hours v/s estimating hours.
  • Update spare register monthly and view where we can use spare rolls/sleeves.
  • Attending all production and safety meetings as required.
