Purpose of Job

To perform all artisan functions related to petrochemical plant instrumentation and control system maintenance, operations support and fault finding.

Key Accountabilities

  • An ability to read and interpret instrument loop drawings, control logic diagrams, data sheets and associated technical documents.
  • Utilization of and adherence to RCA procedures.
  • Compliance to the MOC process for changes to existing plant and equipment.
  • Gas chromatography overhaul, inspection and calibration experience
  • DCS experience (Honeywell)
  • ESD experience (Honeywell)
  • PLC experience (Siemens, Yokagawa, Mitsubishi, Rockwell, Allen Bradley)
  • A practical understanding of IS and SIL
  • A practical understanding of EX and hazardous area classifications
  • QA/QC experience with instrumentation installations.

Formal Education

  • Gr 12 Certificate with Maths, Science and English literacy.
  • NQF Level 4 instrument trade test certificate/Red Seal Certificate.
  • Driver’s license (code 08).

Working Experience

Minimum 3-5 Years’ Experience As a Qualified Artisan
