PHP Development Intern – 1-Year Internship

POSITION INFO

We are looking for a motivated

PHP Development Intern to join its digital development team on a 1-year internship.

This role is suited to someone with a strong interest in web development, backend systems, databases, and practical business applications. The successful candidate will support the development team with day-to-day PHP development tasks, maintenance of existing systems, bug fixing, testing, documentation, and smaller feature builds.

The internship will provide exposure to real-world systems, including custom internal platforms, integrations, reporting tools, and operational software.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with PHP development tasks across internal systems and client-facing platforms.
• Support the maintenance and improvement of existing codebases.
• Assist with bug fixing, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Work with databases, queries, forms, dashboards, and backend workflows.
• Assist with basic frontend updates where needed.
• Support integrations, APIs, and data-related tasks under supervision.
• Document development work, system changes, and technical processes.
• Learn from senior developers and gradually take ownership of smaller tasks.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL.

Exposure to MySQL or similar databases.

Interest in full-stack development.

Willingness to learn and take feedback.

Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work in an office-based team environment.

Portfolio, GitHub profile, projects, or coursework examples will be beneficial.

Advantageous

Exposure to APIs or integrations.

Basic understanding of Git or version control.

Experience with any PHP framework or custom PHP project.

Basic knowledge of Linux, hosting environments, or deployment processes.
