SUMMARY
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and
securing new business opportunities. This role focuses on expanding the client base
by developing strategic relationships, presenting tailored solutions, and driving
revenue growth. The incumbent will play a key role in market penetration, lead
generation, and converting prospects into long-term clients, while ensuring alignment with the company’s commercial objectives and service standards.
POSITION INFO
- The primary function of this role is to drive direct marketing efforts aimed at acquiring new clients.
- This involves conducting thorough research into target companies and industries, identifying potential business opportunities, and actively pursuing in-person meetings with prospective clients.
- Cold calling serves as a key strategy in initiating contact and securing engagement, with the objective of building meaningful relationships and converting prospects into long-term clients.
Qualifications, Experience, and Minimum Requirements:
- The candidate is required to possess a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related discipline, or demonstrate a clear intention to complete one.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and guiding a sales team will be considered advantageous.
- Extensive Logistics industry-specific knowledge and/or sales experience is essential for effective performance in this role.
- The candidate must possess a proven track record in client retention, lead generation, and business development.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills are required to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms and the Microsoft Office Suite is mandatory.
