SUMMARY

We are looking for a technically strong Technical Sales Consultant to drive solution-based sales within the industrial automation and infrastructure sectors. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining engineering knowledge with commercial thinking, while building strong client relationships across industrial and municipal environments.

You’ll work closely with clients to understand operational challenges, develop practical automation solutions, and support systems involving telemetry, monitoring, and control technologies — because sometimes the real skill is translating “we need this to work better” into an actual technical solution.

Job Description

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships while identifying new business opportunities
• Provide technical consultation and solution-driven sales across automation, telemetry, and monitoring systems
• Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and system recommendations based on client requirements
• Work closely with engineering teams to deliver practical and cost-effective solutions
• Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and client site visits
• Support smooth project handovers from sales through to implementation
• Monitor industry trends and identify opportunities for growth within industrial and municipal sectors
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the sales and project lifecycle

Skills & Experience

• 7–10 years’ experience in technical sales, application engineering, or industrial automation
• Solid understanding of telemetry systems, PLCs, and SCADA platforms
• Knowledge of water, wastewater, or infrastructure systems advantageous
• Exposure to CCTV or monitoring systems beneficial
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to understand technical requirements and provide practical solutions
• Commercially minded with a customer-focused approach
• Passion for technology, automation, and problem-solving

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering (or related field)
• Previous experience in technical sales or application engineering advantageous
