Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Draughtsman to join their Randburg-based team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining detailed technical drawings, supporting product development, and ensuring designs are suitable for manufacturing processes. This role requires strong SolidWorks and sheet metal design experience, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for quality engineering

POSITION INFO

Key Responsibilities

• Create, update, and maintain detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using SolidWorks.
• Develop manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
• Design and detail sheet metal components and assemblies for production.
• Work closely with engineering, production, and product development teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
• Manage drawing revisions and maintain accurate records of design changes.
• Assist with the development and improvement of existing products.
• Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and manufacturing requirements.
• Support prototype development and testing activities where required.

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience as a Draughtsman in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Strong sheet metal design and detailing experience.
• Ability to produce accurate manufacturing and assembly drawings.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable transport and ability to commute to Randburg daily.

Preferred Requirements

• Relevant Draughting, Mechanical Design, or Engineering qualification. (not required)
• Experience working with precision-engineered products.
• Knowledge of fabrication, machining, and assembly processes.
