SUMMARY

Bilnor Staffing Solutions' client in the engineering sector is looking for a PIT SUPERINTENDENT to join their team for permanent positions in Middelburg, MP. This is a urgent vacancy.

South African Citizens and those living in the area will be preferred

POSITION INFO

Experience:

• Grade 12
• National Diploma in Mining Engineering / BTech Mining / related qualification – Advantageous.
• Surface Blasting Certificate for Coal Mines
• 3–5 years in a Senior Production / Supervisory role within an opencast environment.
• Proven experience in managing large teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily mining production activities, including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and pit operations.
• Ensure execution of mining activities in accordance with approved mine plans and support short-, medium-, and long-term operational planning.
• Implement and manage production schedules to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
• Lead, manage, coach, and develop Production Teams and associated support functions to drive operational performance.
• Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and regulatory standards, including the Mine Health and Safety Act.
• Conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification, risk mitigation, and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
• Manage operational costs and optimise resource utilisation through effective production, strip ratio, and blast cost management.
• Monitor equipment availability, utilisation, and operational performance to maximise efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure product quality standards are met, statutory and operational reporting is completed, and continuous improvement initiatives are driven.
