Team Leader – Outbound Sales. This role is ideal for a results-driven leader who is passionate about coaching sales teams, driving performance, and creating a positive, high-performing outbound sales environment.

About The Role

As Team Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, coaching, and performance of an outbound sales team. Working closely with the Outbound Sales Manager, you will ensure that sales representatives achieve their sales and quality targets, maintain compliance standards, and deliver excellent customer outcomes. This role combines people management, sales leadership, training, reporting, and operational oversight.

Key Responsibilities

People Management

  • Ensure outbound sales representatives report to work on time and maintain attendance standards
  • Process leave requests and ensure accurate leave administration
  • Escalate disciplinary matters in line with company policies and procedures
  • Drive achievement of sales and QA targets across the team
  • Implement performance management initiatives in partnership with management
  • Maintain task ageing reports and ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Foster a positive, motivated, and productive team culture

Coaching & Training

  • Conduct regular coaching and development sessions with sales representatives
  • Identify training gaps and escalate development needs where required
  • Partner with QA teams to address quality concerns and improve performance
  • Ensure adherence to sales policies, procedures, and SOPs
  • Support implementation of policy updates and process changes
  • Attend and participate in all relevant coaching and training initiatives

Sales Management

  • Manage and distribute leads effectively across the team
  • Monitor performance against sales and QA targets
  • Motivate and lead the team to achieve agreed sales objectives
  • Monitor campaign performance and implement corrective actions where necessary
  • Identify opportunities to improve outbound sales processes and efficiencies
  • Ensure compliance with internal business rules and departmental procedures

Reporting

  • Track and report on team and individual sales performance
  • Analyse customer feedback and sales insights for continuous improvement
  • Monitor lead utilisation and campaign effectiveness
  • Escalate compliance risks, challenges, and operational concerns
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports for management and sales teams

What You’ll Bring

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • RE5 Qualification (essential)
  • Minimum 2 years' sales experience within the financial services sector
  • Previous team leadership or management experience
  • Strong understanding of outbound sales environments
  • Excellent coaching, mentoring, and people management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy and reporting capability
  • Ability to drive sales performance and quality outcomes simultaneously
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

  • Relevant post-matric qualification
  • Experience within long-term insurance or funeral insurance
  • Contact centre leadership experience
  • Exposure to QA monitoring and performance management frameworks
