Project Manager

Job Type: Contract, Full-Time hours

Salary: ZAR 15,000 - ZAR 30,000 per month

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing and finalising projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This role requires managing resources, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring that project objectives are met in line with organisational standards and regulatory requirements, particularly within secretarial, administrative, and environmental and waste sectors.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation and risk management strategies.
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective communication and project progression.
  • Monitor project performance and produce regular progress reports for senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative, environmental, health and safety standards relevant to the project.
  • Manage project budgets and financial resources, tracking expenditure and ensuring cost control.
  • Identify potential risks and issues, implementing mitigation plans to minimise impact on project delivery.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops and presentations to support project objectives and stakeholder engagement.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and records in accordance with organisational policies.
  • Support the evaluation and continuous improvement of project management processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant professional qualification in project management or a related discipline, prefered.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.

Education

  • A minimum of a National Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Further education in business administration, environmental management, or secretarial studies is advantageous.

Experience

  • Proven experience of at least three years managing projects within secretarial, administrative, or environmental and waste sectors.
  • Experience in budget management and resource coordination.
  • Track record of delivering projects within agreed timeframes and budgets.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong organisational and planning skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Sound understanding of environmental regulations and waste management principles relevant to project delivery.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in recognised project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or Agile.
  • Additional qualifications in environmental management, health and safety, or administration.
  • Experience working on projects with a focus on sustainability or waste reduction.

Working Conditions

  • This role is offered on a contract basis, requiring full-time commitment.
  • Work is typically office-based, with occasional site visits to environmental or waste management locations.
  • Standard working hours apply, with some flexibility required to meet project deadlines or attend meetings.
  • The post may involve travel within the region as necessary to support project activities.
