Senior C++ Developer

Our client is seeking a Senior C++ Developer with strong Qt expertise to join their fully remote development team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a sophisticated real-time video platform, focusing on video capture, streaming, playback, and delivering a premium native macOS experience. The successful candidate will take ownership of key technical components while contributing to the evolution of a high-performance media application.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex C++/Qt desktop applications
• Design and implement features related to real-time video capture, streaming, and playback
• Build, package, sign, notarise, and release native macOS applications
• Work with WebRTC and GStreamer technologies to support media workflows
• Optimise application performance and user experience across Apple platforms
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software and media-processing challenges
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality product enhancements
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical improvements
• Take ownership of projects from design through deployment

Requirements

• Extensive commercial experience with C++ development
• Strong expertise in the Qt framework
• Hands-on experience with WebRTC and GStreamer
• Solid understanding of video codecs, particularly H.264 and H.265 (HEVC)
• Proven experience building and shipping native macOS applications
• Experience with code signing, notarisation, and update tooling such as Sparkle
• Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities
• Ability to work independently within a remote, fast-paced environment

Advantageous Skills

• Strong macOS development experience and proficiency with Xcode
• Experience with audio/video processing and additional codec technologies
• Swift development experience
• iOS and tvOS development exposure
• JavaScript and React experience
• Familiarity with Windows desktop application development
