Embroidery Machine Operator

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Embroidery Machine Operator to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Ricoma embroidery machines while ensuring high-quality embroidery output and meeting production targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Ricoma embroidery machines efficiently and safely.
  • Load embroidery design files and adjust machine settings, including sizing, colour sequence, and stitch density.
  • Hoop garments accurately to ensure correct design placement across all machine heads.
  • Monitor machine performance during production runs and troubleshoot issues such as thread breaks and tension problems.
  • Inspect completed embroidery against job specifications and quality standards.
  • Identify, report, and reject substandard work where necessary.
  • Trim excess threads and prepare completed garments for quality control or the next stage of production.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, oiling, needle replacements, and bobbin changes.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe embroidery work area.
  • Record and report production data, including job counts, downtime, and rework

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous experience operating embroidery machines, preferably Ricoma machines.
  • Strong understanding of embroidery processes and garment handling.
  • Ability to read and interpret job briefs and design specifications.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Basic record-keeping and administrative skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with embroidery design software and file loading.
  • Knowledge of machine maintenance and preventative care.
  • Understanding of production targets and quality control procedures.
