Industrial Performance Intern

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
This role is a fixed-term internship or young graduate placement designed to provide a young engineer with practical exposure to industrial data governance and performance monitoring. The intern will receive mentorship from the Industrial Performance Monitoring team while providing support to the team.
Core Mission: To gain practical experience in industrial KPIs and industrial performance monitoring, directly supporting the Performance Management System (PMS) objective of ensuring data quality and contributing to monitor & drive performance within the AMEI Cluster.PMS Support & Learning
- Learn and apply the established Performance Management System (PMS) reporting standards and governance protocols.
- Assist the Industrial Performance Monitoring team with documentation and rollout of PMS best practices.
Data Quality & Integrity
- Support efforts to resolve identified data discrepancies and contribute to the goal of establishing the PMS as the "one source of truth."
KPI Automation & Reporting
- Support in the maintenance and optimization of data scripts and templates to improve the KPI Automation Rate (%) leveraging AI.
- Develop and update standard weekly/monthly performance dashboards using existing templates.
Analysis & Review Preparation
- Prepare data packages for monthly industrial performance reviews by compiling and formatting data extracts.
- Assist with preliminary data analysis to investigate performance deviations against targets.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly trainable, and process-oriented individual looking for their first significant professional experience in a data-driven industrial environment.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Education: Currently completing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree (BEng/BSc) in a relevant technical field (e.g., Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Data Science with a strong interest in physical assets).
Experience: No prior experience required; academic projects demonstrating data skills are a plus.
Aptitude: Eagerness to learn about industrial performance KPIs and the practical application of data governance.
Critical Technical Skills
Data Manipulation: Proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheet is essential (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).
Basic Scripting: Exposure to AI, SQL, Python, or R is desirable but not mandatory, provided the candidate shows a strong aptitude for technical problem-solving.
Reporting Tools: Familiarity with any data visualization tool (Power BI, Tableau) is an advantage.
