Purpose Of The Job

Our client, a well-established autobody business, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Passenger Vehicle Parts Buyer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, receiving, and managing automotive parts while ensuring accurate inventory records and efficient supplier coordination. This role is ideally suited to an individual with strong automotive parts knowledge and experience working with dealer or aftermarket parts systems.

To ensure the timely and accurate procurement of passenger vehicle parts, maintain inventory accuracy, process goods receipts, and support workshop and operational requirements through effective parts purchasing and administration.

Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase passenger vehicle parts from approved suppliers
  • Ensure parts are ordered accurately and delivered within required timeframes
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers
  • Compare supplier pricing and availability to ensure cost-effective purchasing
  • Receive and process incoming parts and accessories
  • GRV (Goods Received Voucher) parts onto the TMS system accurately
  • Map supplier parts and product information onto the TMS system
  • Maintain accurate inventory and stock records
  • Verify parts received against purchase orders and supplier invoices
  • Follow up on backorders, shortages, and supplier queries
  • Assist with stock control and inventory management processes
  • Ensure all purchasing and receiving documentation is completed correctly
  • Support workshop and operational departments with parts requirements
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and quality standards

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Parts Buyer, Parts Administrator, Parts Controller, or similar automotive parts role in an automotive environment
  • Strong knowledge of passenger vehicle parts and components
  • Proven experience ordering automotive parts
  • Experience with GRV processing and stock receiving procedures
  • Experience working with TMS systems or similar automotive management software
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Good communication and supplier negotiation skills
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Valid driver's licence will be advantageous
