Senior Design Draughtsman

A leading engineering company specialising in mechanical solutions for water and wastewater treatment is seeking a skilled Senior Design Draughtsman to join their growing design office. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to product development, innovation, and the expansion of a specialised equipment range.

POSITION INFO

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate 2D and 3D design drawings, fabrication drawings, and assemblies
• Develop and refine equipment designs to improve performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency
• Compile General Arrangement (GA) drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Support new product development and design variations based on client specifications
• Ensure all designs meet company standards and ISO 9001:2015 compliance requirements
• Collaborate with engineering, project, procurement, and production teams
• Provide technical support during fabrication and resolve design-related challenges
• Contribute to R&D initiatives and continuous improvement of products and processes

Minimum Requirements

• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Draughting (or equivalent)
• 5–8 years’ experience in a mechanical design and draughting environment
• Strong experience in water treatment or process equipment industries preferred
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modelling and drafting)
• Sound knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and fabrication processes
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
