Renewable Energy / Critical Power Infrastructure
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will take ownership of the safe and efficient commissioning, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of industrial DC power systems. Your day-to-day will involve:
- Commissioning: Set up new DC power systems and large-scale battery banks from scratch, managing wiring, power cable terminations, and grounding to match design specs perfectly.
- Maintenance & Repair: Run preventative maintenance and diagnose/repair faults on high-voltage DC equipment, including rectifiers, inverters, chargers, and control circuits.
- Testing & Diagnostics: Evaluate system health using specialized testing tools (like multimeters and battery analyzers) to perform capacity, impedance, and load testing.
- Safety & Compliance: Meticulously follow operational and emergency Methods of Procedure (MOPs), ensuring full compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety regulations.
- Heavy Logistics: Safely handle the physical logistics of moving and installing heavy, high-capacity battery modules.
- Collaboration & Documentation: Maintain precise service records and technical reports while coordinating with internal engineers, sales teams, and project staff to hit deadlines.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Working with high-voltage DC systems requires the right foundation of education, hands-on experience, and technical precision.
Education & Credentials (One of the following is required):
- Technical Diploma / Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
- BTech in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
- Trade Tested Electrician.
- A Wireman’s License is highly advantageous.
Experience & Knowledge:
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in the Renewable Energy or Technical sector (ideally working with industrial DC systems, stationary batteries, or high-voltage equipment).
- An in-depth, practical grasp of fundamental AC/DC power principles.
- Excellent ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for complex electrical or electro-mechanical issues.
Certifications & Logistics:
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification (strongly preferred/often required).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for field deployments.
- Manufacturer or specific battery maintenance certifications are a major bonus.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Physical Aspects: This is a physically demanding role. You must be comfortable lifting and moving heavy battery equipment and working in both indoor plant rooms and outdoor field conditions.
- On-Call & Travel: Because you will be supporting critical infrastructure, this role involves working under pressure, regional travel, and occasionally responding to emergency call-outs outside of standard working hours.
