Working with customers to find what they want, create solutions and ensure a smooth sales process. Sales representatives must work to find new sales leads, through business directories, client referrals, etc. Sales reps are friendly, well-spoken, and ready to close the deal.

  • To understand all products, what the main components are and what the applications are
  • To understand the customers and to ensure that I adapt to the different environments regarding the differences in people and customers
  • To perform any task Rigifoam or the relevant HOD might require the individual to do, with full capability and capacity
  • To provide weekly call sheets and updated sales forecasts to the HOD and Production Manager
  • To address all customer enquiries regarding specifications and pricing in a timeous manner either via e-mail or telephone call and ensure the information was accurate and helpful
  • To educate customers on waterproofing solutions, surface preparation requirements, and correct application methods.
  • To always be honest with my HOD and my customers regarding trouble shooting and problem solving
  • To portray knowledge and understanding regarding the department
  • To take commercial responsibility for customers, in these instances liaise with them and co-ordinate administrative functions
  • Take responsibility for customers and their needs regarding the product
  • Take responsibility to make sure that their demands are met by reason
  • Short and long-term planning is required to meet the needs of customers as well as the needs of the company
  • Take responsibility for making sure that the customer is trustworthy and credible to carry the company’s best interests at heart
  • Site inspections and reporting
  • Assisting with system specifications and product selection
  • Liaising with contractors, architects and consultants
  • Basic troubleshooting and after-sales support

Skills required

- Excellent communication skills – strong negotiation and presentation skills to present proposals to stakeholders

- Self-starter – motivated to act/work independently and get things done

- Acquire new business – Must be confident to cold call on prospective customers

Experience

- Proven experience in technical sales, preferably within the construction, chemical, flooring or waterproofing industry

- Have technical knowledge in understanding waterproofing products, waterproofing techniques, and construction methods

Qualifications

- Matric

- Degree in Civil Engineering or Business Management or equivalent will be advantageous
