African Pipe Valves and Fittings (APVF) is seeking a commercially driven and technically minded Product Sales Manager to lead the growth and sales of the Elysee product portfolio across Southern Africa.
Role Description
Elysee is an established international manufacturer of plastic piping systems, producing more than 5,000 product codes and supplying customers in over 65 countries. The range includes compression fittings, saddles, valves, polyethylene pipe systems, hydraulic fittings, filtration products, and irrigation solutions.
This role will focus primarily on Sales of the Elysee compression fittings while supporting the broader Elysee product range. The successful candidate will become the in-house expert, drive sales growth, customer engagement, supplier relationships, and market development.
About the role
As the Product Sales Manager for Elysee, you will take ownership of the product lifecycle, from market analysis and product positioning through to sales support, technical training, and supplier engagement.
You will work closely with APVF’s sales team, customers, consulting engineers, contractors, municipalities, distributors, and the Elysee team to expand market share and identify new growth opportunities.
This is a strategic and hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys combining technical knowledge with commercial responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
The main focus will be sales related driving sales growth through existing and new cusomters.
Prodcuct Management & Strategy
- Develop and implement growth strategies for the Elysee product range.
- Maintain and expand market share across municipal, infrastructure, mining, industrial, and water-related sectors.
- Identify new product opportunities and market trends.
- Monitor competitor activity and market developments.
- Manage product pricing, positioning, and profitability.
Sales & Business Development
- Support APVF’s sales team with technical and commercial product expertise.
- Conduct customer visits and presentations.
- Build relationships with key customers, consulting engineers, contractors, municipalities, and distributors.
- Assist with major project opportunities and specifications.
- Drive sales growth through targeted initiatives and market development activities.
Supplier & Product Portfolio Management
- Act as the primary liaison between APVF and Elysee.
- Manage supplier relationships and communication.
- Coordinate product launches and new product introductions.
- Monitor stock performance and demand trends.
- Work with procurement and inventory teams to optimise stock levels.
Technical Support & Training
- Become the recognised product expert for the Elysee range.
- Deliver product training to internal teams and customers.
- Assist with technical queries, product selection, and application support.
- Develop technical documentation, product guides, and sales tools.
Marketing & Market Development
- Collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns, exhibitions, product launches, and promotional activities.
- Create and maintain product content, case studies, and technical resources.
- Represent APVF and Elysee at industry events and exhibitions.
Requirements
Essential
- Strong sales background minimum 3–5 years’ experience in business development, technical sales, or a related role.
- Strong commercial acumen and sales orientation.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical product information.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and project management abilities.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
Advantageous
- Experience within the plastics, piping, valves, fittings, water infrastructure, irrigation, civil, or industrial sectors.
- Experience working with municipalities, consulting engineers, contractors, or distributors.
- Knowledge of polyethylene piping systems and compression fittings.
