A family is looking for an AU PAIR for their 9 year old boy (Grade 4) - mild ADHD, receiving medication. 7 year old girl (Grade 1)

Duties: Collect the children from school and transport them safely to and from extramural activities, appointments, playdates, and other scheduled engagements. Supervise the children during waiting periods and ensure they arrive punctually for all activities and commitments. Assist with homework, test and exam preparation, and encourage the development of age-appropriate study skills, organisation, and independence. Communicate any academic concerns to the parents. Plan and facilitate engaging holiday and after-school activities, including creative projects, baking, outdoor play, games, and other meaningful experiences that promote learning, social interaction, problem-solving, and limited screen time. Encourage positive behaviour, responsibility, independence, and assist the children in tidying up after activities and play. Provide general family support through errands and administrative assistance, including shopping and returns, collecting prescriptions, purchasing and wrapping gifts, scheduling appointments, and collecting or delivering items as required. Please note that the family employs a full-time housekeeper responsible for cooking, cleaning, laundry, and household maintenance. The Au Pair's primary focus is childcare, organisation, and educational support, with family assistance provided on a secondary basis as reasonably accommodated.

Requirements: Female candidate with experience working with primary school-aged children. Valid South African driver's license, with a minimum of 3 years' confident driving experience and own reliable vehicle in excellent condition. Proficient in both Afrikaans and English. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Clear criminal record and contactable employment references.

Start date: July 2026 start – permanent contract

Salary: R10 000 - R12 000 per month (gross, before deductions) + SARS rates per km (R4.95)

**** Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.

****Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.

****Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.

****Must have a clear criminal record

****Must have a passion for children

****Must have Matric

****Must have a South African ID document.
