SUMMARY

We are looking for a Senior Electrical CAD Draughtsperson, who will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering electrical engineering solutions for Mining and Renewable Energy Sector. This is a 24 months contract based in Secunda.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field
• 5-7 years’ experience as an electrical draughtsperson or CAD technician (preferred)

Person Requirements

Core Competencies

• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, or equivalent)
• Knowledge of electrical design principles and standards (e.g., IEC, SANS, IEEE)
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Effective communication skills
• Understanding of local electrical regulations and compliance standards
• Knowledge of 3D CAD tools
• Ability to mentor junior team members

Additional competencies

• Experience in industrial, EPC, or construction environments
• Familiarity with PLC systems and control panel design
