R 900 000 - R 1 200 000 Basic Salary (Negotiable)

Resources are required to perform Application Maintenance on the DOD PERSOL application by adhering to the following Service Elements and Metrics as stated in the service level agreement between the organization and the DOD. Working according to the full software development lifecycle (SLDC), within systems development, implementation and maintenance / enhancements of solutions.

Working on algorithms, data structures, operating systems and IMS databases.

Key Skills

• Development/maintenance according to the user requirements.
• Analyse existing applications, understanding their business processes, functions, components and data.
• Working on the Waterfall development/maintenance methodology.
• Application Maintenance in the Cobol/IMS language.
• Utilize test plans and software simulator to facilitate different levels of testing.
• Conduct thorough testing and report the results of different levels of testing.
• Implement the changes required during Application Maintenance.
• Continuously monitor the application's performance and availability
• Skills transfers to the organization personnel for future support and maintenance.

Education And Experience

Experience

• Minimum of 6 years and more experience required in the mainframe Cobol/IMS environment.

Qualification

• 3-year Diploma / Degree in ICT (Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology and Engineering) or related field.

Soft Skills

• Team working experience

The prospective service provider must have capacity and capability to ensure the resources:

• Are proficient in utilising the Cobol/IMS technology.
• Must have previous experience in the Cobol/IMS technology.
• Must have the necessary equipment for their resources to develop, test and deploy the maintained modules on the ringfenced DOD Network.
