Position Title: Commercial Sales Representative
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to drive business growth by identifying new commercial opportunities, maintaining strong client relationships, and promoting the company's HVAC and mechanical service offerings within the property and construction sectors.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets while ensuring the delivery of professional, technically sound solutions to clients. The role requires actively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the commercial property market and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders such as developers, landlords, consultants, and property managers.
The position further requires the preparation and presentation of proposals, negotiation of contracts, and ensuring that client expectations are effectively managed throughout the sales cycle. The Commercial Sales Representative will also collaborate with internal technical teams to ensure that solutions provided are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with client needs.
Skills And Competencies
The successful candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, as the role requires ongoing engagement with various stakeholders across the property and construction sectors.
The candidate should possess sound industry knowledge, including an understanding of commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, and mechanical installations. Experience in dealing with property sector stakeholders such as developers, consultants, and property managers is essential for effective performance in the role.
While previous sales experience is advantageous, equal emphasis is placed on industry knowledge, professionalism, and the willingness to learn and develop within the organisation.
In addition, the candidate should possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, coupled with the ability to present technical solutions in a clear and professional manner. Strong organisational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently while meeting sales targets are critical to success in this role.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Performance will be measured based on the achievement of sales targets, growth of the customer base, successful conversion of leads into business opportunities, and the maintenance of strong client relationships. The ability to contribute to overall business growth and market positioning within the HVAC and mechanical services sector will also form part of performance evaluation.
Working Conditions
The role is primarily field-based, requiring regular travel to client sites, meetings, and industry engagements. Flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate client needs and project timelines.
Minimum Requirements
The ideal candidate should have demonstrable experience in the HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical services industry, supported by strong technical knowledge of relevant systems and solutions.
A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Mechanical Services, Sales, or a related field will be advantageous. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to understand technical specifications and translate them into commercially viable solutions
