Join our dynamic team at a leading global payments FinTech as we seek a versatile Data Analyst to contribute to our South African operations. Under the guidance of the Head of Data and VAS at Payfast, you'll assist all areas of the business in their decision-making and operations by drawing valuable insights from our data and solving a range of interesting and complex problems.
Responsibilities
- Support the business in decision-making by turning raw data into valuable information and insights
- Present and communicate insights to stakeholders in a way that is understandable and actionable
- Implement, maintain and optimize data pipelines and automation processes to improve efficiencies and deploy scalable data products across all areas of the business
- Collaborate with a small, agile data team and actively contribute to the overall data culture and data maturity of the organization
- Effectively document work and actively partake in knowledge-sharing within the team
- Manage daily data requests from internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other relevant tertiary qualification
- At least 3 years experience as a Data Analyst or Data Scientist
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
- Strong SQL experience
- Experiencing using Python for data analysis and automation
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tablaeu, QlikSense, PowerBI, Looker or Grafana
- Advantageous:
- Experience in fintech or banking industry
- Hands-on data engineering experience
- Experience using cloud services (AWS, Azure or GCP) for automation, data analysis and/or reporting
- Familiarity with CI/CD and basic git usage
