Junior Finance Manager
Johannesburg
Our client, a well-established multinational organisation, is seeking a high-calibre finance professional to join their Johannesburg office.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to gain exposure to a broad finance portfolio encompassing financial reporting, accounting, taxation, treasury, governance, and business partnering activities. Working closely with senior leadership, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting financial performance, compliance, and strategic decision-making across the business.
POSITION INFO
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting and finance operations.
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance analysis processes.
- Manage statutory financial reporting in accordance with IFRS.
- Oversee consolidation reporting and support external audit processes.
- Ensure compliance with VAT, Corporate Income Tax, PAYE, Transfer Pricing, and other regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other service providers.
- Manage treasury activities, including cash flow, liquidity planning, and foreign exchange transactions.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, governance processes, and compliance frameworks.
- Oversee outsourced accounting service providers.
- Partner with business leaders by providing financial insights and support on operational and strategic initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and operational efficiencies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CA(SA), CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.
- While applications from suitably qualified finance professionals are welcome, preference will be given to CA(SA) candidates with 2–4 years' experience gained within a multinational environment.
- 2–4 years of relevant post-qualification finance experience.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Sound knowledge of IFRS and consolidation reporting.
- Experience with tax compliance, including VAT, Corporate Income Tax, and payroll-related taxes.
- SAP or similar ERP system experience.
- Experience within a multinational corporate environment is highly advantageous.
Technical Skills
- Strong accounting and financial management expertise.
- Working knowledge of IFRS and consolidation accounting.
- Sound understanding of South African tax legislation.
- Proficiency in Power BI and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Advantageous
- Treasury and foreign exchange experience.
- Exposure to cross-border payments and foreign exchange regulations.
- Knowledge of Incoterms and international trade concepts.
- Experience with automation, RPA, AI, or finance technology initiatives.
