A technically strong Electrical Design Engineer is required to deliver high-quality design solutions across complex industrial and infrastructure projects.

This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a design-focused environment and wants to take ownership of projects from concept through to commissioning. You will be responsible for developing electrical designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting project delivery teams with technically sound solutions.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring designs are efficient, reliable, and aligned with client and project specifications.

Education

BEng / BTech in Electrical Engineering

Job Experience & Skills Required

Minimum 3–7 years’ experience in electrical design
Experience in LV and/or HV systems (advantageous)
Proficiency in AutoCAD / EPLAN or similar design tools
Strong knowledge of electrical standards (SANS, IEC, etc.)
Experience with load calculations, cable sizing, and protection systems
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability

Key Responsibilities

Develop electrical designs, schematics, and layouts
Perform load calculations, cable sizing, and system studies
Produce technical drawings and design documentation
Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations
Support project teams during installation and commissioning
Assist with technical queries and design modifications
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
