VACANCY – WETLAND SPECIALIST
Wallace and Green is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated professional Wetland Specialist to join their Team in
their Durban office on a permanent basis. The consultant should demonstrate technical excellence in the
compilation of Wetland Delineation and functional Assessment reports.
Requirements
- BSc Honours Degree in appropriate environmental field or equivalent (MSc advantageous);
- SACNASP Professional Registration;
- Minimum five (5) years post-qualification experience with wetland assessment, inclusive of:
o Wetland delineation and functional assessments;
o Wetland offsetting and mitigation strategies; and
o Wetland rehabilitation.
- GIS proficiency (must);
- SASSv5 certification and ability to undertake aquatic assessments will be an advantage;
- Knowledge of AutoCAD will be an advantage;
- Excellent scientific report writing skills;
- Knowledge of the National Water Act, 1998 (Act 36 of 1998) and related policies, strategies and
guidelines;
- Innovative thinking, negotiating and networking skills;
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills;
- The willingness to travel extensively and work irregular hours;
- Possess drive & energy and be a strong team player;
- Able to take initiative & work independently;
- Language capabilities: fluent in English and one of the following: IsiXhosa, IsiZulu, Sepedi, Sesotho or
Setswana,
Salary: Market related based on experience and interview discussion
