Vacancy – Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) (Senior Level)

Wallace and Green is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated Senior level Environmental Assessment Practitioner

(EAP) to join their team in their Durban office. The consultant should demonstrate technical excellence and

progressive environmental consulting experience.

Lead / prominent role in delivering Basic Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments,

Environmental Management Programmes and Compliance Auditing projects

Financial Management on projects
Managing a team of consultants and provide a mentoring and guidance role to developing the team
Water Use License Applications
Waste Management License Applications
Mining Applications
Feasibility / Screening Assessments
Environmental Auditing and Legal Compliance;
Key client/account relationship management, participation in marketing and business development

activities; and

Qualifications, Experience and Requirements:

BSc Honours Degree in appropriate environmental field or equivalent (MSc advantageous)
Minimum ten (10) years environmental consulting experience in Impact Assessment, Water Use

Licences, Compliance Monitoring, stakeholder engagement / public participation, EMPr drafting,

Mining Applications and Project Management;

EAPASA and/or Pr.Sci.Nat Professional Registration
Thorough knowledge of NEMA, the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process and legislative

requirements.

Experience on large scale and complex projects,
GIS proficiency
Specialist Expertise Advantageous ie. Ecological or Wetland
Liaise appropriately with specialists as well as sub-consultants, clients and authorities
Must be able to meet deadlines, and be prepared to work extra time occasionally in order to do so
Well organized – able to plan, prioritize, co-ordinate and work well under pressure.
Excellent communication, report writing and presentation skills.
Code B Driver’s license, Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings
Have the ability to source new work
