Auditor / Accountant

An accounting and auditing firm in Durban is looking for an experienced Accountant / Auditor to join its professional team. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong accounting practice background who enjoys working across both accounting and audit functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, preparing financial statements, performing audit work, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and regulatory standards.

• Preparation of annual financial statements
• Conducting audits and independent reviews
• Managing audit files and working papers
• Preparing management accounts
• Assisting with tax compliance and submissions
• Liaising with clients and providing professional advice
• Ensuring compliance with IFRS, IFRS for SMEs, and relevant legislation
• Managing multiple client engagements and deadlines
• Assisting with the supervision and review of junior staff where applicable

• Relevant Accounting Degree or Diploma
• Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles preferred
• 3–5 years' experience within an accounting and auditing firm
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and auditing standards
• Experience preparing annual financial statements
• Experience conducting audits and independent reviews
• Tax experience will be advantageous
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
