Our client, a leading company within the crane hire, lifting, and rigging industry, is seeking a skilled and experienced Mobile Crane Operator to join their operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mobile cranes on various construction and industrial sites while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and operational requirements.

Please Note: This position is specifically for Mobile Crane Operators and not for Overhead Crane or Gantry Crane Operators.

Key Responsibilities

Crane Operations

• Operate mobile cranes safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and industry regulations.
• Conduct lifting operations on construction, industrial, and project sites.
• Ensure all lifting activities are carried out in compliance with site safety requirements.
• Work closely with rigging teams and site personnel to execute lifting operations safely and effectively.
• Follow lifting plans and operational instructions to ensure successful project execution.

Equipment Inspection & Maintenance

• Conduct daily pre-start inspections and operational checks on assigned cranes.
• Identify and report mechanical defects, safety concerns, or maintenance requirements.
• Ensure cranes are maintained in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
• Complete required equipment inspection records and documentation accurately.

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety regulations and company safety standards.
• Ensure all lifting activities are conducted in accordance with safe work procedures.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site inductions.
• Wear and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Immediately report incidents, hazards, and unsafe conditions.

Teamwork & Site Support

• Collaborate effectively with riggers, supervisors, and site management teams.
• Assist with lifting preparations and site-related operational requirements where necessary.
• Support safe and efficient site operations through effective communication and teamwork.
• Maintain professional conduct when interacting with clients and site personnel.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Mobile Crane Operator Licence for cranes ranging from 55 Ton to 150 Ton capacity (essential).
• Valid medical certificate.
• Minimum 2 years' proven experience operating mobile cranes (non-negotiable).
• Experience operating cranes on construction and industrial sites.
• Own reliable transport (essential).
• Valid driver's licence.
• Basic rigging experience will be advantageous.
• Good verbal and written English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel directly to assigned work sites as required.
