Financial Controller

Our client is seeking a hands-on and commercially driven Financial Controller to support its franchise operations. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual who enjoys combining financial expertise with operational involvement to drive business performance.

As a key member of the finance team, you will partner closely with operations and management to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and profitability across multiple franchise locations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assist with the business analytics in terms of reports and deep dive analysis.
• Preparing and presenting monthly financial results for individual stores and the group
• Analysing store profitability, including sales, food costs, labour costs, and overheads
• Monitoring and controlling key operational cost drivers
• Managing daily sales reconciliations and cash control processes
• Ensuring compliance with SARS regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and Income Tax
• Supporting audit processes and strengthening internal controls
• Developing and maintaining finance and operational SOPs
• Enhancing financial and operational reporting frameworks
• Overseeing creditors, debtors, and finance administration functions
• Monitoring cash flow and working capital across multiple stores

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Honours Degree in Accounting (advantageous)
• Completed SAICA Articles
• 2 years post-articles experience
• Exposure to retail, FMCG, or QSR environments will be advantageous

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of SARS compliance requirements
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or similar
• Exposure to POS systems will be beneficial

R50 000.00 / month
