SUMMARY
Newly qualified CA(SA) with strong exposure to international markets, seeking to transition into a dynamic M&A environment where technical ability, commercial thinking, and deal exposure can be developed from the ground up.
POSITION INFO
An established corporate finance / advisory environment is looking for a high-potential newly qualified CA(SA) who has recently returned from international secondments and is eager to build a career in M&A. This is a strong entry point into deal execution, valuations, and transaction advisory work within a fast-paced, high-performance team.
The role is ideal for someone who has seen best-practice finance environments abroad and now wants to apply that exposure in a transaction-focused setting, working closely with senior dealmakers on live mandates across buy-side, sell-side, and strategic advisory work.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end M&A transactions including buy-side and sell-side mandates
- Build and maintain detailed financial models (DCF, LBO, scenario analysis)
- Assist with valuation analysis and investment case preparation
- Prepare pitch books, teasers, and client presentations
- Conduct industry, company, and competitor research to support deal origination
- Participate in due diligence processes and data room analysis
- Work closely with senior team members on structuring and execution
Job Experience and Skills Required
Education
- Newly qualified CA(SA) (essential)
Experience
- Exposure to international secondments or cross-border finance environments (advantageous)
- Audit, advisory, transaction services, or corporate finance exposure preferred
- Strong academic and training background
Skills
- Strong financial modelling and analytical ability
- High attention to detail with commercial awareness
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
