Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to define, lead, and execute the organization's long-term cloud transformation strategy. As a key member of the technology leadership team, the Cloud Architect will be responsible for designing and governing enterprise-scale cloud solutions across both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, supporting a workforce of approximately 4,000 employees.
The successful candidate will develop and maintain a multi-year roadmap to migrate on-premises infrastructure, applications, and services to cloud-native platforms while ensuring security, resilience, scalability, operational excellence, and cost optimization. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance business objectives, technology innovation, governance requirements, and operational realities.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of IT infrastructure, systems, or enterprise architecture experience.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on cloud architecture experience.
- Demonstrated experience designing and operating enterprise environments in both AWS and Azure.
- Proven experience leading large-scale cloud migration initiatives.
- Experience migrating enterprise workloads from on-premises data centers to cloud platforms.
- Experience managing hybrid cloud environments and cloud governance frameworks.
- Experience with cloud security, compliance, and risk management.
- Experience with vendor and stakeholder management at senior leadership level.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- The candidate must hold current certifications in both AWS and Microsoft Azure. AWS Certifications
At least one of:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (Preferred).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
Additional AWS certifications are advantageous:
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty.
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty.
Microsoft Azure Certifications
At least one of:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Preferred)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
Additional Azure certifications are advantageous:
- Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert.
- Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert.
Duties & Responsibilities Cloud Strategy & Vision
- Develop and maintain the enterprise cloud strategy and architecture roadmap.
- Define the long-term target state architecture to achieve a fully cloud-based operating model.
- Establish cloud adoption frameworks, migration methodologies, and governance standards.
- Advise executive leadership on cloud opportunities, risks, investments, and emerging technologies.
- Drive cloud-first and cloud-native principles across the organization.
- Develop and maintain a 3–5 year cloud transformation roadmap aligned with business objectives.
Enterprise Architecture
- Design enterprise-scale solutions spanning AWS and Azure environments.
- Create architecture standards, reference architectures, patterns, and best practices.
- Ensure alignment between cloud architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, networking, and application strategies.
- Review and approve cloud solution designs for compliance with enterprise architecture standards.
- Lead architecture governance boards and technical design reviews.
Cloud Migration Leadership
- Assess existing on-premises infrastructure, applications, and workloads.
- Define migration waves, prioritization models, and modernization strategies.
- Lead migration planning and execution efforts.
- Identify opportunities for rehosting, re-platforming, refactoring, or cloud-native transformation.
- Manage technical risks associated with large-scale cloud migration programs.
- Establish success metrics and KPIs for migration initiatives.
Security, Risk & Compliance
- Design secure cloud architectures aligned with organizational security standards.
- Ensure cloud environments meet regulatory, governance, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on identity management, network security, data protection, and monitoring.
- Implement Zero Trust and security-by-design principles.
- Maintain disaster recovery, business continuity, and resilience strategies.
Cloud Operations & Optimization
- Define operational models for cloud infrastructure management.
- Establish monitoring, observability, automation, and incident response capabilities.
- Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption and platform automation.
- Develop cloud financial management (FinOps) practices and cost optimization strategies.
- Monitor cloud consumption trends and optimize resource utilization.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with business leaders, project teams, vendors, and technology stakeholders.
- Provide architectural leadership to engineering, infrastructure, and development teams.
- Mentor cloud engineers, architects, and technical specialists.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
