COFCO International South Africa (Pty) Ltd has an opportunity for a dynamic individual to fulfill a role in this Company.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this function is to perform a variety of support tasks in the Logistics Team,with consistent liaisons between various departments within general operations, trade

execution and trade, as a Planning & Logistics Co-ordinator.

Minimum Qualifications And Experience

Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Transport or related field

Minimum of five (5) years’ demonstrated experience in a similar field, with a proven track record in managing logistics pertaining to road.

Role & Responsibilities

Managing and executing contracts within the delivery periods.

Obtaining quotations and negotiating rates with transporters for new contracts.

Liaising with transporters.

Liaising with silo managers and farmers and arranging loading to destinations.

Booking trucks in to load at silos and farm venues.

Movement planning and scheduling – plan loads for following week based on slots

confirmed with stakeholders.

Coordinate product delivery schedules with Execution (Client facing) desk.

Book trucks in to offload with Trade Execution Desk in accordance with client demand.

Processing of daily transport orders – agreements.

Manage and resolve transport invoice queries and claims.

Average movement of 40, 000 metric tonnes – 50, 000 metric tonnes of various grains commodities per person, monthly.

Essential SkillsGood Knowledge Of Microsoft Office Tools

Good Microsoft Excel proficiency

Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence

Fluent in English and in Afrikaans languages

Ability to work independently with limited to no supervision, as well as part of a team

Adaptable to change & the ability to work under pressure

Comfortable working after hours (logistics hours) and on weekends where applicable

Solution oriented and pro-active problem solver. Able to efficiently solve problems relating to sales and transportation of goods.

Dedicated and diligent.

Ability to work under pressure while always maintaining excellent attention to detail and high a degree of accuracy.

Planning, organising and excellent time management skills.

Critical thinker with emotional resilience to overcome obstacles.

Desirable Skills

Exposure to the Food / Feed / Grain and/or Agri commodity sector is an advantage.

Tech savvy.

An aptitude for innovation for continuous process and/or system enhancements and

automation.
