About the Role
We are looking for a commercially minded Finance Manager to lead financial reporting, control, compliance, and business performance analysis for SuperSportBet. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial accuracy, supporting strategic decision-making, driving process improvements, and maintaining strong financial governance across the business.
The Finance Manager will partner closely with operational and commercial teams, providing insight into business performance, profitability, cash flow, and key financial metrics while leading a team responsible for accounting, reconciliations, and financial controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- 5-8+ years of progressive finance experience, including management responsibilities.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
- Experience managing tax compliance and statutory reporting.
- Proven people leadership experience.
Advantages

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the monthly close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
- Review and approve complex journals, including revenue recognition, cost of sales, payroll, and other accounting adjustments.
- Manage the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all control accounts are reconciled and outstanding items are resolved promptly.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, supporting schedules, and performance commentary.
- Support quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes.
Financial Analysis & Business Partnering
- Analyse financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
- Conduct variance analysis across revenue, gross gaming revenue (GGR), net gaming revenue (NGR), marketing spend, operating costs, and profitability metrics.
- Provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Monitor key financial and operational performance indicators, identifying risks, trends, and opportunities.
- Evaluate business initiatives and assess their impact on financial performance.
Financial Control & Compliance
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, financial processes, and governance frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax legislation, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and oversee VAT, Betting Tax, Income Tax, and other statutory submissions.
- Review payroll calculations and sign off payroll processing.
- Oversee payment operations reconciliations and ensure the integrity of payment service provider balances.
Treasury & Cash Management
- Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity requirements.
- Review and approve payments in accordance with company policies and delegated authority limits.
- Monitor working capital and identify opportunities to improve cash management.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Drive automation and optimisation of financial systems, reporting, and reconciliations.
- Support finance transformation initiatives and cross-functional projects.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, coach, and develop the local finance team.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and provide trusted financial guidance across the business.
- Support audits, investigations, and ad hoc projects as required.
