The team brings together learning experience consultants, learning performance consultants and learning support specialists who work closely with key stakeholders across the business to design and deliver learning solutions.

The Learning Consultant: Compliance & Risk is responsible for leading the design, governance and continuous improvement of OM Bank’s compliance and risk learning capability. Operating within a highly regulated banking environment, the role ensures that mandatory learning frameworks are effectively implemented, aligned and sustained to meet regulatory, governance and audit requirements.
The role will act as the subject matter lead for compliance and risk learning, partnering closely with Risk, Compliance, HR and Business stakeholders to strengthen capability, ensure consistency across OM Bank and drive audit-ready learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Areas
Stakeholder Engagement and Needs Analysis
- Consult with stakeholders to identify learning needs, regulatory requirements and performance gaps
- Facilitate discussions to clarify learning objectives and business priorities
- Collaborate across functions to ensure alignment and shared ownership of learning outcomes
Learning Design and Delivery
- Design and deliver end‑to‑end learning solutions (e-learning, programmes and blended experiences) that drive business, performance and learning outcomes
- Conduct needs analyses and develop learning frameworks aligned to organisational priorities
- Translate complex regulatory and compliance requirements into practical, engaging learning interventions
- Ensure learning solutions support effective transfer and application in the workplace
Compliance and Risk Learning Ownership
- Lead the design and implementation of compliance and risk learning programmes, aligned to regulatory requirements and the OM Bank Compliance Learning Framework
- Ensure mandatory learning curricula are relevant, up-to-date and fit for purpose
- Partner with Risk, Compliance and other business stakeholders to ensure alignment to evolving regulatory expectations
Governance, Quality and Control
- Maintain and apply learning governance, controls and quality management standards
- Ensure all learning solutions comply with banking regulations, policies and internal standards
- Drive consistency, audit-readiness and adherence across learning initiatives
Planning, Delivery and Performance Management
- Plan and track delivery of learning initiatives against project objectives and timelines
- Provide direction and challenge to business and learning teams to ensure high-quality outcomes
- Deliver accurate, insightful reporting on learning progress and outcomes
Measurement and Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate learning effectiveness through measurement of impact, outcomes, efficiency and compliance
- Monitor insights and implement continuous improvements to enhance learning quality and relevance
- Support the development of a sustainable, high-performing learning culture
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant Business, Human Resource or Learning-related qualification (minimum NQF 5)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a learning practitioner, consultant and or learning designer role
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within the banking industry
- At least 3 years’ experience in compliance, risk or governance-related roles
- Proven experience in complex and highly regulated environments (financial services or fintech advantageous)
Technical & Functional Expertise
- Strong knowledge of learning principles, methodologies and best practices, preferably within banking or financial services
- Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering e-learning, programmes and blended learning solutions
- Proficiency in Articulate Story line or similar authoring tools (minimum 3 years’ experience)
- Experience working within agile and cross-functional delivery environments
- Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical learning interventions
