ESG Finance Lead

Our Midrand based client needs an ESG Finance Lead for a maternity cover - 8 months.

  • Support the overall ESG reporting approach for the Group including responsibility for the completeness and accuracy of reported ESG data;
  • Communicate and execute the processes to obtain, validate and submit ESG data derived from multiple sources to Group across a range of KPIs;
  • Drive implementation and accountability of Group defined policies and process controls while supporting stakeholders in addressing short comings in the current processes;
  • Manage data submissions to Group in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously monitor opportunities for process improvement including opportunities for automation in data collection;
  • Supporting the coordination and management of internal and external assurance and reporting governance, working with cross-functional teams throughout the business to integrate this into the overall governance and control framework; and
  • Producing required reports and data analysis for internal stakeholders to support operational decisions and programme management towards the Group ESG targets.

Key performance indicators:

  • Successful ESG reporting including complete, accurate and timely submission of ESG data to Group
  • Compliance to Group-wide policies and processes
  • Independent assurance levels achieved as set in line with ESG committee ambition
  • Feedback from stakeholders
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a reporting function for a large organisation within a group;
  • Ability to build strong relationships and support teams across multiple functions under very difficult circumstances to deliver on pre-determined targets;
  • Strong communication and excellent writing and presentation skills to ensure credibility with senior management; and
  • Experience in working with cross functional teams in delivering data in compliance with regulation into a structured and controlled environment subject to external assurance.
  • Experience of non-financial reporting and knowledge of relevant reporting frameworks (CSRD and ISSB)
  • Ability to influence alignment across geographically dispersed teams without direct authority

• Honours Degree in Accounting, (ACCA) or equivalent
