Accountant

A growing accounting and advisory firm based in Pretoria East is seeking an Accountant to join its team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to gain exposure to a diverse client portfolio while working in a collaborative and professional environment.

• Prepare and maintain accounting records for a portfolio of clients.
• Process and review monthly bookkeeping and accounting transactions.
• Prepare management accounts and financial reports.
• Perform bank, creditor, debtor, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory submissions.
• Liaise directly with clients regarding accounting and financial queries.
• Assist with budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and financial analysis where required.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and relevant legislation.
• Identify opportunities to improve client processes and internal efficiencies.
• Support senior management with ad hoc accounting and reporting requirements

• BCom Accounting or a related financial qualification.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years' accounting experience, preferably within an accounting practice or professional services environment.
• Experience preparing management accounts and working with multiple clients.
• Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, CaseWare, Pastel, or similar systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and client relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
• Professional, reliable, and service-oriented approach.
