We’re looking for a Senior IT Technician who brings both technical depth and a genuine drive to serve. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in sometimes complex and messy environments, takes ownership of outcomes, and is motivated by making a real difference for the businesses they support.
You’ll work across Microsoft 365, network infrastructure, server environments, security tools, and backup systems, supporting a diverse portfolio of clients with high expectations and real operational needs.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Deliver exceptional remote and onsite technical support to clients across Cape Town and surrounding areas
- Administer and optimise Microsoft 365 environments including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and Azure AD
- Design, configure, and troubleshoot network infrastructure with a focus on MikroTik environments
- Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, ensuring stability, performance, and security
- Administer ESET endpoint security across client estates, including policy management and incident response
- Oversee backup and disaster recovery solutions — ensuring client data is protected and recoverable
- Conduct regular site visits and client IT audits, identifying risks and presenting practical remediation plans
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across systems, documentation, and service delivery
- Collaborate with the technical team to escalate, resolve, and learn from complex incidents
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Essential
- 5+ years of experience in IT support, with a strong track record in both remote and onsite environments
- Solid, hands-on Windows Server administration skills (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Hyper-V)
- Confident working with MikroTik routers and switches: configuration, VLANs, VPNs, and troubleshooting
- Experience administering ESET Security: including deployment, policy management, and threat response
- Practical knowledge of backup and disaster recovery tools and methodologies
- Valid driver’s licence and own transport for client site visits
- Excellent communication skills — able to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Beneficial
• Microsoft 365 administration experience (Exchange Online, Intune, Azure AD, SharePoint)
• Exposure to RMM and PSA platforms (e.g. Datto RMM)
• Familiarity with POPIA compliance requirements in an IT services context
• Experience working in a managed services provider (MSP) environment
