POSITION INFO
Our client is seeking a commercially astute Credit Investment Portfolio Analyst / Manager to support the evaluation, structuring, and management of credit-focused investment opportunities across diversified portfolios.
This role is designed for a technically strong finance professional who can interpret complex financial data, build robust valuation models, assess risk exposure, and translate analytical output into clear, decision-ready insights for senior stakeholders and investment committees.
You will work across investment, finance, legal, and operational teams throughout the full investment lifecycle, gaining exposure to transactions, due diligence, portfolio optimisation, and strategic decision-making within a sophisticated investment environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse credit portfolios, distressed assets, and investment opportunities to support investment decision-making
- Develop and maintain financial models including valuation, scenario analysis, stress testing, and sensitivity modelling
- Support transaction execution including due diligence, deal structuring, and investment evaluation processes
- Prepare investment papers, valuation reports, and presentations for senior stakeholders and investment committees
- Assess credit risk, NPL exposures, and portfolio performance to identify opportunities and risks
- Conduct investment and corporate finance analysis to evaluate returns and downside scenarios
- Support ongoing portfolio management and provide insights to improve investment performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across investment, legal, finance, and operations
- Act as a key support to the Client Solutions Executive, operating as a second-in-command within the team
Job Experience And Skills Required
Education
- CA(SA), CFA, or BCom Honours in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Investment, Actuarial Science, or related field
Experience
- 3–5 years’ experience in investment analysis, financial modelling, corporate finance, investment banking, or credit/NPL portfolio environments
- Exposure to distressed credit markets, debt sales, or structured finance advantageous
- Strong academic track record preferred
Technical Skills
- Strong capability in DCF valuation, scenario analysis, stress testing, and sensitivity modelling
- Experience preparing investment papers and presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- SQL and Power BI exposure advantageous

- Proven experience in transaction support, due diligence, or investment processes
- Strong valuation and financial modelling capability
- Ability to analyse complex financial data and generate actionable insights
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and investment committees
- Strong commercial judgement and analytical thinking
