Minimum Requirements
Matric
A formal qualification in Sales/Marketing would be advantageous.
3 to 5 years’ technical experience in the coatings industry.
5 years + relevant practical sales experience in the coatings industry.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and approve paint specifications for construction and coating projects and ensure correct product selections.
- Conduct site inspections, testing, and performance evaluations.
- Manage and coordinate guarantee projects and technical risk mitigation processes.
- Diagnose coating failures and provide root cause analysis and corrective solutions.
- Investigate customer complaints and manage claims, ensuring effective resolution.
- Compile detailed technical reports and site visit documentation.
- Provide technical support and training to customers (contractors, applicators, developers) and Internal teams.
- Coordinate between technical and commercial teams on project specifications and site inspections and approvals.
- Maintain accurate records of: Technical documentation, Specifications and inspection reports.
- Build strong professional relationships with all channel customers.
- Provide technical consultation to customers to ensure correct product usage.
- Translate technical knowledge into practical solutions and value for clients.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to identify new business opportunities
Support customer retention and growth.
- Pricing strategies and quotations (aligned with company policies).
- Support execution of go-to-market strategies and Customer value propositions.
- Accountability for achieving financial results as identified in the strategy document(s).
- Effective customer segmentation, distributor selection/de-selection, planning, marketing and competency development to deliver financial goals.
- Develop business plans and strategies with customers, in alignment with market dynamics and business goals.
- Develop sound pricing strategies in alignment within South Africa pricing policies.
- Responsible for accurate quoting and margin level of authority.
- Work in collaboration with Sales and Marketing Team to assess market based on competitive intelligence information as well as market research initiatives.
- Accountable for operational excellence for designated sales area. Effectively deploys standard processes that enable world-class performance.
- Accountable for contracts and documents with clients relating to tinting equipment, yearly rebates, pricing structure.
- Monitors customer profitability performance and directs improvements.
- Accountable for execution of the sales process, demand planning, building distributor competency.
