Job Advert Summary
The Eduvos Law Clinics are newly established teaching and community engagement initiatives within the School of Law, operating across multiple campuses. The Clinics are dedicated to advancing access to justice by providing pro bono legal services to underserved communities, while serving as practical training platforms for law students.
The primary focus of the Law Clinics is clinical legal education, where students gain hands-on experience by working on real client matters under the supervision of qualified legal practitioners. The Clinics aim to develop practice-ready graduates while contributing meaningfully to social justice.
This position is based in Gauteng and will support and oversee the coordination and development of the Law Clinics across campuses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational management and development of the Law Clinics, ensuring its effective establishment and growth.
The role requires a legally qualified professional who can oversee day-to-day clinic operations, support clinical legal education, and supervise student work, while ensuring the delivery of quality legal services to the community.
Minimum Requirements
LLB degree (LLM or relevant postgraduate qualification advantageous
Admitted legal practitioner
At least 3-5 years post-admission experience
Experience in a law clinic, legal practice, or student supervision environment will be advantageous
Demonstrated interest in clinical legal education and access to justice
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and administration of the Law Clinics;
- Support the establishment, development, and growth of the Clinics;
- Supervise and guide students working on client matters;
- Ensure proper management of client files and adherence to professional and ethical standards;
- Assist in the delivery and coordination of clinical legal education programmes;
- Provide support in teaching practical legal skills modules where required;
- Contribute to the development of clinic policies, procedures, and systems;
- Assist with the recruitment, training, and supervision of candidate legal practitioners and interns;
- Support staff development and contribute to a collaborative working environment;
- Manage administrative and operational aspects of the Clinics, including reporting and compliance;
- Engage in community outreach and help build the Clinic’s profile;
- Assist with stakeholder engagement and partnership development;
- Contribute to resource mobilisation and sustainability initiatives where required

- Knowledge of legal practice administration, case management systems, file management, compliance, and clinic operations.
- Ability to supervise student casework, facilitate experiential learning, and support practical legal skills development.
- Strong legal research, legal drafting, client consultation, and case management skills across relevant areas of law.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with courts, legal practitioners, NGOs, community organisations, and other partners.
- Experience developing policies, procedures, monitoring systems, operational reports, and ensuring regulatory and institutional compliance.
