Quality assurance administrator

Karan Beef, a leader in the South African beef industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Quality Assurance Administrator to join our team. The successful applicant will play a key role in managing quality documentation, coordinating audits, monitoring compliance processes, and contributing to the delivery of premium-quality products to our customers. • Maintain all Karan Beef quality certifications.
• Track, review, and document all changes to product and process specifications.
• Administer internal and external audits, food safety engagements, corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), and verify compliance with food safety and regulatory standards (e.g. ISO 22000 and GMP).
• Maintain quality records, coordinate compliance audits, and support cross-functional teams in resolving non-conformances.
• Compile quality metrics, prepare routine reports, and draft management review reports.
• Identify gaps in current administrative workflows and assist in driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Administer all Quality Management System (QMS) electronic and physical check sheets.
• Ensure all required product inspections are conducted and properly documented.
• Coordinate and administer internal and external laboratory activities.
• Train and develop laboratory assistants and quality controllers.
• Monitor product and process quality trends and provide recommendations where necessary.
• Manage product and process sampling and monitoring activities.
• Act as the Health and Safety Custodian for the department.
• Perform any other related departmental duties as required from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12
• Minimum of a BSc in Food Science (Biotechnology) or an equivalent qualification
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in the food industry, particularly in manufacturing and processing.
• Computer literate with strong analytical skills, including proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
• Results-driven, self-confident decision-maker with proven leadership abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
