In this role you will be responsible for:

Inspections on the raw materials batching system, pre-heater feeding and furnace floors Ensuring that the furnace is properly loaded Conducting inspections on all floors of the furnace building Assist with electrode paste loading, monitoring paste temperatures and replacing thermos-couples when necessary Assist to Operate the furnace in accordance with established procedures and works instructions Ensuring good housekeeping in the area of responsibility Operating the computerized loading system for feeding raw material into the furnace Adhering to all HSECQ requirements to ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures

About you:

Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification Basic metallurgy and smelting knowledge Basic Furnace and electrode operation understanding SCADA and MES knowledge will be an advantage Good administration, communication and interpersonal skills Computer literate for the role At least 2 Years’ general furnace experience in a Smelter environment
