Lead the finance agenda for one of Africa’s most dynamic, high-growth digital businesses. This is an opportunity to shape strategy, drive performance, and influence executive decision-making across multiple African markets.

Our client is seeking an experienced finance executive to take ownership of the end-to-end finance function within a complex, multi-country operation. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a critical role in supporting growth, ensuring financial integrity, and enabling strategic expansion across regulated markets.

This role combines strategic leadership with operational excellence. You will partner closely with senior stakeholders, provide insight-led commercial analysis, strengthen governance frameworks, and lead a high-performing finance team in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with executive leadership to drive financial strategy and business performance
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning across multiple African markets
• Deliver executive reporting, financial insights, and performance analysis
• Enhance KPI frameworks and decision-support capabilities
• Ensure strong financial controls, governance, compliance, and audit readiness
• Oversee statutory reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory obligations
• Support market expansion initiatives, licensing activities, and commercial investments
• Manage relationships with auditors, regulators, and external advisors
• Oversee high-volume payment and transaction environments
• Lead, develop, and inspire a regional finance team

What You Bring

• Proven experience as a Financial Director, Head of Finance, CFO, or equivalent senior finance leadership role
• Strong exposure to multi-entity and multi-country operations
• Experience within regulated, listed, or highly governed environments
• Deep understanding of financial reporting, controls, compliance, and governance
• Experience in high-volume transactional businesses
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into business insights
• Executive-level stakeholder management capability
• Experience with ERP systems and financial data platforms
• Knowledge of African payment ecosystems would be advantageous
• Hands-on leadership style with a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach
