SUMMARY

Our client is an industry leader, and a proud member of a larger JSE listed Group. They seek an experienced Key Accounts Controller, who will handle day-to-day customer service for existing key account customers in the Gauteng region.

This role supports the Business Development Manager by managing inbound phone and walk-in queries, helping with quote preparation, and keeping customer records up to date. The successful candidate will be organised, customer-focused, and able to work independently on routine customer requests while escalating more complex issues appropriately.

POSITION INFO

The Person

  • Matric.
  • Must be fluent in Mandarin (non-negotiable).
  • Tertiary qualification a strong advantage.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years customer service or administrative support experience.
  • Logistics or warehousing background preferred.
  • Must be able to start immediately.
  • Familiarity with warehousing, freight or logistics operations, an added advantage.
  • Excellent Excel skills.

The Job

  • Customer Service & Query Handling:
    • Answer inbound phone calls and walk-in queries from existing customers.
    • Handle routine questions on pricing, service availability, delivery status, and account queries.
    • Log customer interactions in the system and escalate complex issues to the BDM.
  • Quote Preparation Support:
    • Assist the BDM with preparing customer quotes.
    • Track active quotes and follow up with customers on pending ones.
    • Co-ordinate with Head Office when non-standard pricing or rate approvals are needed.
  • Account Administration:
    • Maintain accurate customer records, contact details, and account information.
    • File customer correspondence, quotes, and service requests.
    • Prepare basic activity summaries for the BDM when requested.
