Role Description

Astek Property Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resources Manager to join our team on a full-time basis in Johannesburg.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the human resources function, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and HR compliance. The role requires a proactive individual who can partner with leadership to drive people strategies that support business objectives while fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full recruitment and onboarding process
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and strategies
  • Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation and employment regulations
  • Provide guidance and support to management on employee relations matters
  • Lead performance management processes and employee development initiatives
  • Identify training needs and coordinate learning and development programmes
  • Manage disciplinary processes, grievances, and conflict resolution
  • Maintain HR records and reporting systems
  • Drive employee engagement and workplace culture initiatives
  • Support organisational growth through effective workforce planning

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a Human Resources Management role
  • Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices
  • Proven experience in recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations
  • Experience managing disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Relevant HR certifications will be advantageous
