Job Purpose
lead and supervise the Credit Control team responsible for the effective management of accounts receivable, debt collection, credit risk, and customer account administration in line with business, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
Qualification Requirements
- Manage credit risk exposure and ensure appropriate credit limits and controls are in place
- Drive maximum collection of outstanding debtors in line with targets
- Minimise bad debt write-offs and ensure bad debt provisions remain within acceptable levels
- Monitor debtor collections against set targets and take corrective action where required Reconcile disputed accounts and ensure timely resolution of customer payment issues
- Ensure accurate and timeous allocation of daily cash receipts to customer accounts
- Ensure adherence to established credit policies and procedures at all times
- Streamline credit control processes in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Update and maintain debtor-related SOPs as required to improve efficiency and compliance
- Manage month-end-debtor balancing processes to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Attend to, investigate and resolve customer queries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Always ensure accuracy and integrity of customer master data
- Maintain regular engagement with sales teams and internal stakeholders to resolve account-related issues and improve service delivery
- Ensure accurate, complete and timeous reporting of Accounts Receivable to business stakeholders.
- Prepare monthly management reports detailing debtor performance and key risk areas
- Provide weekly credit management reports highlighting overdue debt, reasons for delays, actions agreed and progress updates
- Ensure effective visibility and escalation of overdue debt and associated risks
- Motivate, train and develop team members to meet required standards business objectives
- Ensure alignment and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including sales and finance teams
Experience Requirements
- Credit control/Debtors experience 5-7 years Essential
- Supervisory skills 2-3 years Desirable
- FMCG Accounts 2-3 years Desirable
- Experience in dealing with credit risk, collections, and debt recovery processes Essential
