SUMMARY

Lexdan Select is assisting a niche short-term insurance company with their search for a Commercial Underwriter, based in Pretoria, Gauteng.

POSITION INFO

Functions:

• Underwrite new business, renewals, and endorsements for general commercial lines from inception through to policy issuance
• Perform full risk assessment and pricing in line with company guidelines and delegated authorities
• Manage broker relationships and handle queries timeously and professionally
• Maintain accurate policy records and documentation throughout the policy lifecycle
• Liaise with claims teams up to (but not including) claims payment stage.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal underwriting standards.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of underwriting procedures.

Requirements:

• RE1, RE5 is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ commercial lines underwriting experience.
• Proven experience in a UMA, or similar environment where end-to-end underwriting is required.
