We are seeking a commercially astute, hands-on Financial Manager who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and enjoys partnering directly with senior leadership to drive business performance, profitability, and growth.
This is a high-impact role reporting directly to the Managing Director and offers the opportunity to take ownership of the group's financial portfolio across multiple business entities and branches.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall financial management of the group, ensuring accurate reporting, effective cash flow management, strong financial controls, and strategic financial support to the leadership team.
This is not a large corporate environment.
We are looking for someone who is adaptable, commercially minded, willing to get involved in the detail, and comfortable operating in a dynamic business where initiative and accountability are highly valued.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting & Management Accounts
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reporting
- Consolidate and report across multiple group entities and branches
- Deliver accurate monthly financial reporting within agreed deadlines
- Provide meaningful financial commentary, analysis, and performance insights
- Identify financial risks, trends, and opportunities across the business
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
- Lead the annual budgeting process across the group
- Develop and maintain rolling forecasts
- Work closely with leadership to establish revenue, gross profit, and operating expense targets
- Support strategic planning and business growth initiatives
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Manage and forecast group cash flow on a weekly basis
- Monitor debtors, creditors, and working capital performance
- Ensure sufficient liquidity to support operations and growth objectives
- Review stock levels and working capital efficiency
Financial Controls & Compliance
- Maintain and improve financial controls, policies, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements
- Oversee VAT, PAYE, taxation, and audit requirements through external service providers
- Ensure strong governance and risk management practices
Profitability & Commercial Analysis
- Analyse branch and product profitability
- Monitor margins, cost of sales, and operating expenses
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency
- Assist management with pricing and commercial decision-making
Strategic Business Partnering
- Partner directly with the Managing Director and leadership team
- Provide financial input into business decisions, growth strategies, and investments
- Support expansion initiatives and business planning
- Deliver meaningful financial insights that support informed decision-making
Systems & Process Improvement
- Improve reporting systems and management dashboards
- Drive financial process improvements and automation initiatives
- Assist with the integration of financial, sales, and operational reporting systems
Team Oversight
- Oversee and support the Financial Clerk
- Ensure financial processes are executed accurately and efficiently
- Maintain discipline and accountability within the finance function
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
Qualifications
- Finance Degree, BCom, Accounting Degree, or relevant Finance Diploma
- Professional finance designation advantageous but not essential
Experience
- 5+ years' experience in a Financial Manager, Financial Accountant, Group Accountant, Management Accountant, or similar role
- Strong experience in:
- Management accounting
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Cash flow management
- Financial reporting
- Financial controls and compliance
- Profitability analysis
- Experience working across multiple entities or business units advantageous
- Exposure to Sage and similar accounting systems advantageous
- Experience within ICT, Telecommunications, Office Automation, Managed Services, Technology, or Asset Finance environments would be beneficial

Remuneration & Benefits
- Basic Salary: R42,000 per month
- Company Retirement Annuity Contribution: R2,000 per month (effective upon successful completion of probation)
- Company Medical Aid Contribution: R2,000 per month (effective upon successful completion of probation)
Total Value Package: Up to R46,000 per month following successful completion of probation.
