HR Officer

The Talent Experts

Great HR isn't about paperwork. It's about building a high-performing workplace where people and business succeed together.

Is this you?

You’re a well-rounded HR professional who enjoys being involved across the full HR function rather than specialising in only one area. Known for your maturity, discretion and sound judgement, you balance compliance with a people-focused approach. You’re academically strong, technologically savvy and naturally curious about how digital and AI tools can improve the way HR operates. Reliability, attention to detail and a stable career history reflect your commitment to delivering high-quality work and building long-term professional relationships.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

This role offers broad exposure across the entire employee lifecycle, making it ideal for a true HR generalist. Responsibilities include recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, disciplinary processes, payroll and benefits administration, HR reporting and maintaining accurate employee records. You’ll also support Skills Development initiatives, coordinate Employment Equity processes and ensure compliance with labour legislation and HR best practices. You’ll enjoy this opportunity because it combines operational involvement with strategic impact, allowing you to influence culture, employee development and organisational performance while working across all areas of Human Resources.

Where you’ll be doing it

Join a well-established engineering and industrial organisation with a long-standing reputation in its sector. The environment is professional, fast-paced and focused on operational excellence, offering the opportunity to work alongside experienced leaders while contributing to meaningful people, transformation and development initiatives.

What you’ll need

A completed BCom degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or a related field is essential. Please note that a BTech qualification will not be considered. Alongside strong academics, you’ll have at least 5 years of proven HR generalist experience with exposure across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, payroll administration, compliance, Skills Development and Employment Equity. A solid understanding of South African labour legislation, particularly the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), is required, together with knowledge of MEIBC requirements and HR best practices. Strong computer literacy is essential, and you’ll be comfortable using HR systems, digital tools and AI-powered technologies to improve efficiency and productivity. This opportunity is best suited to someone who has demonstrated stability throughout their career. A consistent employment history with limited job-hopping will be highly advantageous. Your academic transcripts and full academic record will be requested as part of the selection process. Success in this role will come naturally to someone who is professional, thorough, trustworthy, able to work independently and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail matters.

What you’ll get

A stable opportunity to apply your full HR skill set within a respected organisation while gaining exposure to a diverse workforce, transformation initiatives and employee development programmes. You’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution across the entire HR function while working in a business that values professionalism, accountability and continuous improvement
